Ancient Stairway in Minerve, France

This ancient stone stairway presses against a very tall wall leading from one of the main streets up into the smaller streets higher up the hill. The stone steps are very worn in places where thousands of people have trodden for centuries. Minerve is a village perched on a rocky outcrop, separated from the rest of France by the river that has cut away around its base over the millennia. Don't worry - the base of this massive rock is gigantic!
