Old Stone Mill in Cucugnan
This beautiful stone windmill was started about 1100 AD. It sits on the top of a very steep hill, just above the village that is sheltered on one side by the hill yet is exposed to the elements on the other side. Several apprentices were working in the village because the government of France has the foresight to set up specialist trades in stonework, carpentry, and ironwork. They were chatting with one another at their lunch break, saying how excited they are to learn a trade that will employ them for decades in France and throughout Europe. Young men and women were super keen on renovating the village and the old mill. Some were a little tired but were joking with one another about the new muscles they were developing - never mind the mathematics and geometry they were using in their jobs every day!
This 6" x 8" live edge basswood can have a leather strap attached to hang it up as desired.
